A credit score of 635 is OK or as FICO calls it “good”, but it can very easily drop to fair or poor. What you want is to make your credit score 635, good or excellent. I know it is already “good”, but it needs to be stronger. Don’t think that credit companies don’t notice this. Barely hanging on the “good” is not the same as “almost excellent” rating. And yes, although both 635 and 749 scores are considered to have “good” rating, this doesn’t mean that the credit companies will treat them the same way or give them the same preferences.
If you want to get your credit score 635, good or excellent, now is the time – while you’re still in the “good” range. An easy way to boost up your score by a few points is to make your payments online or automatically payable. This way you’ll never forget to pay a bill and leave it sitting on the counter thinking “I’ll pay it tomorrow.” No, you won’t pay it tomorrow,–and this will result in bad credit rating. Another thing that lowers your credit is unpaid tickets – make sure you pay them right away or even better – drive safely. Another way to make your credit score 635 good or excellent is to try and increase your income. I know they say they don’t take it into consideration in the FICO scores, but when you apply for a loan or credit card, they will definitely consider it. When you make more money, paying your credit and bills will not be a problem, and if you do so on time, your credit score will start going up. (more…)
